がんのことについて、家族で話しあってみようー。
乳がんはセルフチェックでき早期に発見できる可能性があるがんですが、なかなかチェックする機会も少ないと思います。そのきっかけを後押しするアイテムとして「キャンサーバルーン」が生まれました。風船にキャンディを入れることで乳房としこりの感覚を軽く楽しくシミュレーションできます。がん当事者が考えるだけでなく、家族や仲間と共に向き合う文化が生まれるといいな、という思いも込められています。（YCU-CDC監修）

キャンサーバルーンは、横浜市乳がん連携病院主催のイベント「ももいろパーク」に出展し、配布されました。

医療の視点
横浜市では、医療を「他人ごと」ではなく自分自身のことと捉えてもらえるよう、民間企業等との連携による手法で医療広報を実施する「医療の視点」プロジェクトを開始しました。

Cancer Balloon – A conversation starter for families to talk about cancer.
Breast cancer is a form of cancer that can potentially be detected early through self-checks—but many people rarely get the chance or reminder to do so. The “Cancer Balloon” was created as a fun, lighthearted item to encourage those first steps. By placing a candy inside a balloon, users can simulate the texture of a breast lump, making it easier to learn and talk about early detection.
The balloon is designed not only for individuals facing cancer but also to foster a culture where families and communities engage with the issue together. (Supervised by YCU-CDC)

Part of the “Medical Perspectives” project
This initiative was exhibited and distributed at Momoiro Park, an event hosted by Yokohama City’s Breast Cancer Affiliated Hospitals. “Medical Perspectives” is a public health communication project by the City of Yokohama, aiming to make healthcare feel more personal and relatable by working in partnership with private organizations.
