This image shows functional vasculature formed in vivo by transplantation of vascularized pancreatic islets into a mouse. The blood vessels visualized by Texas Red dextran infusion (in white)―which indicates highly vascularized tissue formation with hormones secreting capacity like insulin―are shown seven days after transplant.
